North West Regional College (NWRC) is a leading provider for Further and Higher Education and skills training in the North West, offering state-of-art and industry standard facilities across our five campus; Strand Road, Springtown, Strabane, Limavady Main Street and Limavady Greystone Campuses. 

NWRC support over 10,000 students annually to achieve their educational goals, through full part-time or higher education courses, as well as offering Higher Level Apprenticeships, across the subject areas below:

NWRC also serve community and business groups through a number of learning and skills initiatives, DfE upskilling programmes such as Skill Focus and Skill Up as well as research innovation support through Innovate Us, Invest NI Innovation Vouchers and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. The college supports businesses to drive new product development with technical experts on hand to support the innovation journey through 5 innovation centres:

  • FoodovationTM (Food & drink innovation)

  • DIAL (Health & assisted living)

  • XR Extended Reality (Virtual & augmented reality)

  • i4.0 (Artificial Intelligence, robotics, automation) 

  • Product Design Centre (3D printing, additive and advanced manufacturing)


To date NWRC have supported over 1500 businesses across Northern Ireland resulting in positive outcomes for business including increased productivity, profitability and skills.

Queen's University Belfast is one of the leading research-intensive universities within the UK and has a long-standing international reputation for successful dissemination and application of cutting-edge research, knowledge transfer and the commercialisation of research ideas and innovations. 

The Research & Enterprise Directorate is the first point of contact for industry and the wider community wishing the engage with the University. The Directorate team draw upon the depth and breadth of our world-class multidisciplinary research base to help provide answers to many of the challenges faced by companies and public bodies, and to provide access to our vast array of research facilities & equipment across a variety of sectors and disciplines. The team promotes and supports academics in building relationships with commercial and public sector partners, and facilitates the knowledge exchange process across the wider University community, leveraging opportunities for further business engagement and identifying and supporting the transition from problem to solution.
