Shaping the Future of Coaching in Northern Ireland

7 Jul 2026

The Ulster University School of Sport and Exercise Science recently delivered a knowledge exchange event to a packed room of more than 50 coaching practitioners, leaders and educators from across Northern Ireland.

The message was clear and powerful: coaching in Northern Ireland is undervalued, under-recognised, yet absolutely essential to athlete development, community wellbeing and the long-term sustainability of our sporting system.

Check out the short video, which captures the energy, commitment and passion of coaches working on the ground every day.

Supported by Connected, this event has helped lay the foundations for strengthening the voice of the Northern Ireland coaching community and fostering greater collaboration around strategic frameworks where many of these challenges and opportunities can be explored and addressed together.
